Randy Klein, John Russell Taylor, ROAD. The streets were still crowded with immigrants, but it was also a hot bed of culture compared to the tree-lined streets of Brooklyn. Clubs were full of punk music, and warehouses were off-off Broadway theatres. My art school, the Art Students League, had been the spiritual home of the Ash Can School. While I studied, I worked as a cab driver on weekends.
