Elements of nature are more than a constant source of inspiration
for the creation of visual form. They also bring with them a
weighty mythological and poetic meaning.
In myths people seem to forever be transorming into trees.
In Dante's Inferno, those who have taken their own lives live for
eternity as trees. If one breaks their branches, they feel pain and bleed.
Surely all of us are trees.
